Oral Surgery involves, but is not limited to: wisdom teeth removal,
apicoectomy, TMJ disorder, facial trauma, corrective jaw surgery, oral pathology, dental implants, osseous tissue surgery, anesthesia and bone grafts.
There are two different kinds of extractions: simple and surgical. Dr.
Bayne will perform simple extractions. If the extraction is one that he feels an Oral Surgeon is better trained for, he will provide you a referral. Oral Surgeons perform extractions every day. The office Dr.
Bayne refers you to will provide the same level of dental care you have become accustomed to.
If you are referred to an Oral Surgeon, we recommend meeting with
their insurance specialist if possible. Most Oral Surgeons have an
insurance specialist available in their office. Their job is to research
your insurance policies (medical and dental) and see what will be
covered by each for your proposed procedures. Even if you feel you
know your coverage well, it is not a bad idea to set up this meeting.
This helps you avoid any surprises when it comes to what the
insurance payments will look like for your services.
